Drain Flies are often referred to as Moth Flies due to the size and appearance of the wings which are bigger and more pronounced than the other flies in this category. Coming from drains where organic debris and water provide encouraging breeding points. Drain flies are not hard to control once a source point has been identified. However, consistent drain foaming and bioremediation applications are required to eliminate the source of the issue. The most effective solution to eliminating this pest is to understand how it occurs and to eliminate potential food or organic debris going down drains. Usually occurring during cleaning process when mops are run over drains. Preventative on site control measures such as mopping around drains instead of over drains provides immediately noticeable if not permanent results.
