Deer mice are tricky pests which can sometimes be identified incorrectly as chipmunks or Voles. Usually found in or around suburban areas backing onto woods, streams, surrounded by fields or with attached deck. Deer Mice prefer to live outside. However, are often found when they attempt to enter a home for food or water. Control measures change little between House and Field Mice. However, a quick exterior inspection sealing entry points and a bait station located along the foundation typically provides very successful results. When applying pesticides or rodenticides on exterior areas a professional is always recommended to ensure no negative environmental impact.
